EXG™ Wearable ECG Platform
Discover advanced wearable ECG systems designed for continuous cardiac monitoring, clinical-grade accuracy, and patient comfort. EXG wearable ECG solutions help healthcare providers capture high-quality cardiac data in ambulatory, remote, and outpatient settings while supporting efficient workflows and informed clinical decision-making.
EXG Wearable ECG Monitoring Solutions
The EXG™ Wearable ECG Platform from C-Booth Innovations is a wearable ECG designed for rapid, accurate deployment across the cardiac care continuum — from the ambulance to the emergency department to the cath lab. Founded in 2017 by two Carlsbad-based ER physicians, EXG™ addresses the operational realities of modern ECG at the source: consistency, motion artifact, rushed electrode placement, and the EMS-to-ED handoff.
Now available through Heart Medical for U.S. hospitals, EMS agencies, and cath labs.
The problem EXG™ solves
Standard 12-Lead ECG hasn't meaningfully changed since the 1950s — while patient volumes, staff variability, and time pressure have only grown. The clinical literature has documented what that looks like:
- 94.2% electrode misapplication rate in current 12-Lead ECG practice (Rouan et al., Am J Cardiol 1989; 64(18):1087–1092)
- 2 cm of electrode misplacement can obscure critical ST-segment changes and hide a heart attack (Bond et al. 2012)
- 29% of suspected STEMI patients do not receive an ECG within 10 minutes (Stopyra et al., Prehosp Emerg Care 2023; 27(4):488–495)
- 72% of unnecessary cath lab activations linked to ECG misinterpretation (Degheim et al. 2019)
EXG™ addresses the root cause: consistent, rapid placement in a wearable form factor that reduces operator variability at the source.
One platform, four configurations
The EXG™ Platform is available in four lead configurations, sharing a single-cable adapter design so one cable works across the entire product line:
- EXG™ 12-Lead — Continuous diagnostic 12-Lead monitoring, expandable to 18-Lead. 3-day continuous wear. CPR compatible. Radiolucent for cath lab use. The flagship configuration.
- EXG™ 5-Lead — Continuous rhythm monitoring. Shape optimizes P-wave and QRS morphology. Only 2 applications per average 5.5-day hospital stay.
- EXG™ 4-Electrode (4-Lead) — EMS-optimized 4-Electrode configuration for rate and rhythm monitoring. Multiple placement options (wrist-to-wrist, limb-to-limb, limb-to-torso).
- EXG™ 3-Lead (Reversible) — Reversible for Right-sided and Posterior visualization on demand. STEMI confirmation and RV MI evaluation. CPR compatible.
4-Lead / 4-Electrode disclaimer: intended for assessing lower-acuity patients where full diagnostic information may not be required.
Shared features across the platform
Every EXG™ configuration inherits the platform's core design properties:
- Single-cable design. One universal adapter across all four configurations. Simplifies inventory, training, and workflow.
- Rapid deployment. Single connection enables setup in under 60 seconds.
- Radiolucent. X-ray transparent design — where applicable, electrodes stay on through fluoroscopy and imaging.
- CPR compatible. Tolerates Manual & Mechanical CPR (LUCAS). Wearable design stays on during resuscitation (12-Lead and 3-Lead).
- Disposable, single-use. Per-patient consumable.
- Universal compatibility. One cable fits any standard ECG monitor, including Philips PageWriter EKGs and Philips Patient Monitors — no fleet replacement required.
- Motion artifact reduction. Improved methods for high-activity environments — vehicle transport, procedure tables, and active patients.
Who EXG™ is for
EMS agencies — 12-Lead for STEMI transport, 4-Lead (4-Electrode) for rate and rhythm monitoring on lower-acuity patients. Motion artifact reduction, single-cable design, and universal compatibility with LP15, X Series, and other portable ECG monitors.
Hospitals — 12-Lead for continuous diagnostic ECG across the episode of care (ED, ICU, medical/surgical, cardiology), 5-Lead for continuous rhythm monitoring (only 2 applications per 5.5-day average stay). 3-Lead reversible for confirmatory STEMI workup.
Cath labs — 12-Lead through the entire procedure (radiolucent, CPR compatible), 3-Lead reversible for Right-sided and Posterior visualization on demand during interventions.
Certifications and compliance
Certified for professional medical use: FDA-Registered, AHA-Compliant & ISO-13485 Certified.
